Concreters in Karrinyup
Karrinyup · August 2026
Two very different Karrinyup jobs
Karrinyup splits neatly in two. Around the older streets it is replacement work on established homes. Out towards the golf course it is new builds where the concrete goes in as part of a landscape design. We have done both here this year.
Ripping out an old bitumen driveway
In August 2026 we took out a failed bitumen driveway and replaced it with non-slip grey concrete, full width from the crossover to the garage. Bitumen goes soft and patchy in a Perth summer and once it starts breaking up at the edges there is no sensible repair, so the honest answer is removal. A plain grey pour with a non-slip finish is the sane choice for a driveway on a slope: it grips, it does not show tyre marks the way a pale mix does, and the money goes into the base rather than the look.
Curved architectural concrete on a new build
Earlier in the year, April 2026, we poured curved architectural concrete on a new build here in Limecrete Architectural Grey. The curves were set out on site to follow the landscaping line rather than run to a straight edge. That kind of work takes considerably longer to form up and it is worth being upfront about that, because the setting out is most of the job and none of it shows in the finished surface.
Slope is the thing to plan for
Karrinyup rises as you head west. A lot of driveways here have genuine fall, which affects where the water goes, how much grip the finish needs, and where the joints have to sit. It is worth walking the site before choosing a finish rather than picking one off a photo.

Before and after
Most of this work is replacing something that has had its day. Here is what that looks like.
